WORLD IN PROGRESS

Tossed and turned by an abstract material environment, little Groff sets out for a remolding of the mind.
Growing Architecture & Constructed Nature
In 2014 this animated short was first conceived as one part of a thesis research at the KTH School of Architecture in Stockholm.
The master thesis concerned itself with the principles of growing architecture & constructed nature and aimed to display their notions on a more abstract level. Constructed nature describes an architecture, which is primarily planned out and based on ideas, thereby constructing another layer of our world’s sedimentation. The principle of growing architecture however defines itself more through opportunities and chances. It is an architecture, which integrates itself in moments of space. The two principles do not necessarily oppose each other, but rather coexist and sometimes even melt together.
After this initial starting point, the animation found itself in a limbo of post production and after being a work in progress for so long, it finally became - fittingly - a World in Progress in 2018.
